With a life full of rich experiences, it took retiring for me to recognize I find the most purpose and fulfillment when I am working and contributing to my community. Solving problems and having an impact on the clients I serve has been the most rewarding experience.
For five years, I was the CEO of operations for a company that worked with global positioning systems for tracking vehicles. When the opportunity came to sell, I did and retired at just 55. To most, it would be a dream come true, but I quickly realized retirement was not my forte. For seven years, I trudged through retirement, filling my days working with local organizations, volunteering and golfing, but I wasn’t satisfied. There is just something special about waking up in the morning and getting ready for work – I find true purpose when I have a job to do.
Becoming a REALTOR® was an exciting way for me to apply all the lessons I have learned to navigate a transaction and help people achieve their goals. In real estate, no two days are alike, and there are always unique challenges to solve. That is what I love about it. What I love about my career in real estate is the ability to anticipate and solve problems. Having been in the real estate industry for eight years, I have seen my fair share of challenges.
